He is the founder of Shantaya Yoga & Bodywork School, certified Anusara® yoga instructor, licensed physiotherapist (PT), E-RYT 500 and has three decades experience in a multitude of yoga styles, therapies and healing modalities. He has also been a pioneer in spreading therapeutic bodywork through his Thai Yoga Certification program in the USA and elsewhere over the past 13 years.
With an extensive background in traditions from both East and West, combined with a lifelong spirit for adventure, travel and personal inquiry, Jonas joyfully transmits the essence of yoga with insight, clarity, and joy. Continually he shares his passions around the world with a full international teaching schedule. Residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand, during the winter time and travels throughout the summer period – Jonas enjoys the blessings of the nomadic yogic lifestyle.
AMY REED is a de voted and enthusiastic student and teacher of Yoga. A Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher, Amy has spent the last 10 years steeped in the teachings of Tantric Yoga, studying Rajanaka Tantra with Dr. Douglas Brooks, Neelakantha Meditation with Paul Muller-Ortega and Anusara Yoga with founder, John Friend.
Amy grew up in a spiritually diverse household with a Quaker mother, Buddhist father, and Presbyterian grandmother. From this foundation she was compelled to study a wide variety of spiritual traditions at a young age, including Yoga and meditation. Throughout her teenage years she explored Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga styles. These practices were so familiar and yet so profound – they took Amy deep into her own Heart and she knew from inside that one day she would teach yoga.
Through her teaching, Amy weaves the life-affirming & practical teachings of Tantric philosophy with the supremely elegant system of Anusara Yoga. She teaches from her everyday experience with personal insights and humor in an authentic offering straight from her Heart. She is known for her clear and precise alignment instruction and therapeutic knowledge as well as for her sweetness and enthusiasm. It is her highest intention to serve each student in the recognition of her own innate goodness and freedom and to use this individual awakening to serve in the celebration and enhancement of all Life.

TEACHER TRAINING IN CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
100-HOUR "ART OF TEACHING PROGRAM"
December 1-15, 2012
JONAS WESTRING & AMY REED
SHANTAYA YOGA SCHOOL offers an inspiring and comprehensive 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program based in the elegant methodology of Anusara Yoga. As an alternative to the many short-term intensive yoga teacher trainings, this training provides enough time to assimilate and digest all the information needed to become an effective and skillful teacher.
By giving the teacher trainee time to be a student first, the foundation to teach from a place of clarity and authenticity is established. This is followed by an in depth study of the art and science of teaching yoga which is the gateway to powerful and successful teaching. We welcome students from all walks of life.
This program will provide those who have never taught yoga before with clarity, confidence and a solid foundation to get started. For those who are already teaching there will be ample opportunity to deepen and refine their skills to the next level of potency. All students of this program will be empowered to flourish and find their unique voice and gifts as a teacher while learning to communicate the life-affirming methodology of Anusara Yoga.
IMMERSION PROGRAM + ART OF TEACHING PROGRAM =

PHASE 2: ART OF TEACHING PROGRAM – 100 HOURS

For those new to teaching, it will create clarity and confidence to launch your teaching. For those already teaching yoga it will help attune, re-inspire, and refine yoga teaching to a high degree. The Teacher Training addresses all essential aspects of the yoga teaching profession including: teaching methodology; organization; class planning; heart themes; language; practice teaching; sequencing strategies, observation, adjustments, demonstration and taking the honorable seat of a yoga teacher.
