practitioners training manual

The Thai Yoga Manual with detailed description and photos of the entire sequence of Thai Yoga techniques is available at all Thai Yoga Foundation Courses (Level 1). When participating in Thai Yoga Levels 2, 3 and 4 - students receive the training material for that particular level. For the 6-hour intro and 14-hour CEU workshops an illustrated handout is complementary.

thai yoga method & methodology

Distilling the essence of the Thai tradition both from an Eastern and a Western perspective, the Thai Yoga methodology is precise, clear, biomechanical safe, and yoga based. Students systematically develop and refine their hands-on techniques and sensing abilities in order to create optimal and lasting results. The practitioner turns the session into her own bodymind practice, receiving tremendous benefit while providing a powerful healing treatment. As a way to solidify and deepen their Thai Yoga practice, senior Thai Yoga students support our training programs as teachers' assistants. At this time nobody has been authorized as an instructor of the Thai Yoga Method.

thai yoga seminars & practitioner certification

in 1998 jonas westring began teaching thai yoga training programs at established venues in the USA, including kripalu center for yoga & health and the omega institute.  he has continued to develop and teach these programs for the past 9 years, sharing thai yoga with thousands of people around the world

in his innovative style jonas presents the unique combination of three main traditions: 1) physiotherapy and its clinical applications 2) the practice of yoga with its ancient wisdom 3) the full spectrum of the phenomenal thai healing tradition.  the result is an extraordinary healing modality and training program

below is an outline of the curriculum.  it is highly recommended, but not required, to take an introductory workshop before beginning the certification program

thai yoga introductory courses

The 3-hour experiential workshop gives participants a good taste of what it is like to both receive and give Thai Yoga. Come by yourself or bring a partner for a fun, educating and rejuvenating experience.

The 6-hour introduction cover Thai Yoga fundamentals. A complimentary handout depict the 20 techniques taught. This Thai Yoga sequence takes about 30-40 minutes to deliver.

14-hour thai yoga fundamentals workshop:

CEU: 14 contact hours
Prerequisite: None

Offered as a weekend format this course covers the essential elements of Thai Yoga. More than 30 fundamental techniques applied in the supine, prone and seated positions provide a comprehensive introduction to the Thai Yoga Method (TYM). This introductory sequence of Thai Yoga techniques, clearly explained in a complementary workbook , forms a hands-on session that will take 50-60 minutes to deliver. This sequence can be practiced on its own and is also an excellent preparation for Thai Yoga Certification.

Level I: Thai Yoga Foundation Course
CEU: 35 contact hours
Prerequisite: None

This first level of Thai Yoga is the basic foundation for Thai Yoga Certification and covers a full 1.5-hour sequence in the supine, prone and seated treatment positions. Here we study the primary principles of the Thai Yoga Method, learn about the tradition from where it has sprung, and set a strong foundation for a professional practice. The complete sequence is clearly depicted by text and photographs in the Thai Yoga Certification Manual available at the seminar.

Completion of the Thai Yoga Foundation Course is a prerequisite for participation in the following levels of the Thai Yoga Certification Program.

Level II: Thai Yoga Basic Completion
CEU: 35 contact hours
Prerequisite: Thai Yoga Level 1

The second level of Thai Yoga introduces an entire new sequence that together with the Level 1 material forms a complete Thai Yoga routine in the northern style of Thai massage. The complete Level 1 & 2 sequence is a powerful full-body Thai Yoga experience for the recipient as well as for the practitioner. The entire sequence includes well over 100 positions and takes approximately 2.5 hours to deliver. The Level 2 material includes a full sequence in the side position, inversions, arms, hands, and abdominal core techniques. In Level 2 we also refresh and review the entire Level 1 sequence, before putting it all together on the last day of this training.

After Thai Yoga Level 1 &2 + completion of 20 required documented practice sessions, students will have the Thai Yoga Basic Certificate.

We also review and refine aspects of techniques from Thai Yoga Level 1 & 2 during Level 3.

Welcome to Level 3 are all Thai Yoga Basic Certificate graduates + people who have participated in the Thailand Journey.
