EMIL WENDEL & JONAS WESTRING
with GEOFFREY GORDON

PHILOSOPHY | ANUSARA YOGA | PRANAYAMA | RITUAL | BIO-MECHANICS | KIRTAN
BHAKTI | COMMUNITY | MANDALA | MUDRA | MEDITATION | MUSIC

EMIL WENDEL, born Swiss, has been living in Asia since the mid-seventies, studying Indian thought under Pandit Saraswati Prasad Ghimire, as well as Chinese classical philosophy in Taiwan. His long years of residency in Nepal and India have brought about a passion for yoga, in particular the aspects of breath and meditation techniques in both the Buddhist and yogic traditions. Emil’s courses offer a glimpse into the treasures of philosophy, and their application in daily life as yoga practice and ritual. He is traveling frequently, instructing in numerous teacher trainings, and leading workshops and retreats all over the world.

KAOMAILANNA BOUTIQUE RESORT
Kaomailanna rests on 20 acres of natural land that hold 18 former tobacco curing barns, converted into 36 guest rooms. Outside you'll see old red-brick walls, step inside and you have entered a new world of guestrooms decorated in Thai contemporary style. Yoga space, conference rooms, restaurant, swimming pool and Spa.

RETREAT FOOD
Morning tea, a sumptuous brunch, snacks, and dinner will be served daily. All food served at the retreat is purely vegetarian - without garlic, onions, and fish sauce. If you have any other specific dietary needs or food allergies we will try to accommodate those. Fresh, delicious, nutritious Thai coconuts will be available for purchase.

TRANSPORTATION TO THE RESORT
A prepaid taxi from Chiang Mai airport to Kaomailanna Resort is 470 THB and from the city a taxi will cost 400-500 THB. For those already in Chiang Mai (or on a budget) local transportation (yellow pick-up trucks = Song-Taews) that function like buses are available. They only operate during daylight and leave outside Chiang Mai gate at the beginning of Wui Lai Road (Saturday night walking street). Make sure it's bound for Chom Tong (city past the resort) and get off exactly at Kilometer Marker 29 (located right on the resort itself). The ride is 20 THB.

WHAT TO BRING
You need to bring your own yoga mat - we provide sitting cushions, blankets, belts and blocks. Also recommended is a shawl for meditation, a bathing suit for the fabulous pool, and a refillable water bottle for drinking water. Thailand is always warm, regardless of time of year - however, during our retreat time we can expect nights and mornings to be slightly cooler. Bring a shawl/sweater/light jacket/fleece for the early morning.
